Gayle graduated from the University of KwaZulu Natal with a Bachelor in Occupational Therapy in 2011. She completed her community service at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital in 2012.
She stayed on at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital after her community service to develop a paediatric hand unit; a unit specifically designed to provide rehabilitation to children with congenital hand disorders and acquired hand injuries. In 2015, she completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Hand Therapy at the University of Pretoria.
She moved into private practice and joined OT Zone in February 2016. In 2017, she completed her qualification as a Lymphoedema and Wound Care Therapist, through the International Lymphoedema and Wound Care Training Institute. She has been involved in treating lymphoedema and breast cancer patients ever since.
Gayle has been involved in various special interest groups and is currently serving as the Gauteng regional chairperson for the South African Society of Hand Therapist (SASHT) for 2018/2019.
